The plot is constantly being rewritten into new movies: Feel good movie about a lower class child who strives to fulfill his passion in the face of social and economical adversity and ends up being an inspiration for all who doubted him.
This is more than just a feel good movie, it really succeeds by having great sub plots and wonderful depth of character.
The Year in Review
I would say at times, I felt like I was pushing myself to watch movies and it was a chore sometimes, but this challenge is relatively easy to do. I expect it would be harder if I had more responsibilities, but 2010 was pretty fancy free for me. Many thanks to the Maverick movie night crew and everyone who helped me with recommendations and such.
Christine Curry gets the nod for best recommendation for Some Like it Hot and Troy Foley gets the nod for worst recommendation for Thankskilling, which doubles as the worst movie I saw in 2010! Dave Lyman gets a big pat on the back for giving me the idea of the blog and for so many good movie ideas and of course watching them with me.
Some of them were an hour and a half and some were pushing three and more and when you combine that with the fact that I watched the entire series of Boardwalk Empire, Band of Brothers and The Pacific as well as all seasons for Community, Parks and Recreation and the current series’ of my regular shows, I think it’s safe to say I have too much downtime.
My next project for the year is to do a lot more film creating instead of watching. There are no parameters yet, but I promise that before 2011 is done, the feature length season finale of Uncle Nagy’s House will be done. Ken, I’m gunna need your help on that one big guy.

Very awesome visuals and a bizarre story. Pretty much the anime tradition, I guess. This was a very fine example of such, but the music was not so great at times. Overall it was excellent. Thanks to Lindsey for the recommend.
363. Scent of a Woman
It was OK. Predictable, but has a good, albeit over the top at times, performance from Pachino. File this one under, “what you would expect, but enjoyable anyway”.
362. Lock Up
It was OK. Pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a Stalone action movie. I think where he went wrong with his later action movies was try and be the everyman. He’s not the everyman and it just comes out boring. Cobra; Now there’s a movie.
